Health problem is one of the challenges to healthcare workers. Long-lasting emotional fatigue can shorten health care workers' attention span & concentration. And health care workers feel sad, hopeless, anxious, irritable & trouble sleeping.Over time, emotional exhaustion can lead to psychiatric problems such as depression or anxiety. Also to develop interpersonal relationships & control, & changes in factors such as work hours & shift work could cause elevated levels of emotional exhaustion and reduction in paramedical staff’ sense of personal accomplishment and promotion. Burnout is a psychological process that occurs under conditions of severe stress & emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, & reduces the individual’s motivation, achievement & show of progress. It has been found that the HCWs are more stressed because of less staff, increasing work load, longer working hours, high clientele expectation & peculiar problems & hazards of work place. There is increased morbidity in HCWs in comparison to general population. Additionally, the results of this study may have implications on workforce planning, recruitment & retention of paramedical staff in the public health system.
