Leverages of Political Pressure on Georgian Media and Rustavi 2 Case

“Europe saved us today, Europe saved Georgia today,” - Nika Gvaramia, Rustavi 2 General Director welcomed the ECHR extension saying in a televised statement on March 7, 2017. Defending rights of independent media is not about the fate of one media company, not even about the fate of media freedoms, but about the future of democracy in Georgia. How the situation in Georgia regarding media freedom can improve, what role can the International Community play in the process? These are the questions that this work will try to answer. These issues are especially important in the light of Hybrid War by Russia.
