The rise in drug resistance has become the most serious public health hazard and contributes to human infection, which can lead to new deadly foodborne pathogens. Almost 70% of Gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli and K. pneumoniae are resistant to fluoroquinolones, third-generation cephalosporins, and carbapenemases.
