Eli-Twist Yarn- A New Technology for Sewing Thread Production

Clothing manufacture is the last link in a long and complicated process by which two-dimensional fabrics is transformed into three-dimensional garments by sewing the fabric pieces together. This tailoring process of conversion requires complex mechanical deformation of the fabric at very low loads. Formability, the ability of a fabric to be converted into a 3-D shape to fit a 3-D surface is dependent on a number of mechanical parameters. Ring spinning system is mostly used for making such sewing thread. Eli-Twist sewing thread is new method of sewing thread manufacture and provides a product with better mechanical and physical properties than the conventional ring spun sewing thread. Eli-Twist spinning system, patented by Suessen Elite compact spinning technology has gained considerable attention in the recent times. It is the process of producing two-ply compact sewing threads with improved quality and better fibre utilization. This book “Eli-Twist Yarn- A New Technology for Sewing Thread Production” is focused on use of Eli-Twist yarn as a sewing thread. Three different blend ratios were taken to produce three different counts from each blend.
