Privatization of Football club in Iran: from Stock Exchange to Leasing

In the developed countries, value added of sport industry forms a significant portion of the gross domestic product (GDP), and plays an important part in generating income. Professional sports clubs constitute the main core of this industry, and the foundation and core of professional sports development are formed within the clubs. With regard to the issues and problems faced by this industry, the privatization of the clubs is an inevitable issue. The current research seeks to explore the different procedures to privatize football clubs.
